College Fun Knowledge Base
College Fun? I am a college student with no spending money whatsoever - everything I make goes towards bills. Its not an issue of saving - I "save" money on things that a lot of people dont - I style my own hair, dont get my nails done, no coffee addiction, I shop at Walmart for food/toiletries, havent been shopping for ANY clothes/accessories in many months... I feel stifled because I have no money. I'm in school, and I'll have a career soon, and I'll make money then, but in the meantime... I feel like I'm missing out on life because I'm broke. Pretty much everything costs some money - even road trips, etc. because you need gas money. My college experience seems limited because I don't have rich parents to pay for stuff I cant afford. How do you all deal, or how have you coped with this?
What were some memorable/fun college social icebreakers of yours? Please I need some great ideas for social parties intended to meet new people/get to know one another (icebreakers). Doesn't necessarily have to be college specific, but something that would be fun for 1st and 2nd year college students. Any ideas you have or concepts of gatherings you've been to would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know of any fun College Towns in the Midwest? I go to a small private university in Southwest Michigan, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a fun college town that my friends and I could check out. The Indiana University- Bloomington campus- is exactly what I am looking for, but it is about 4 hours away and we are looking for something closer. Any ideas?
How can one possibly have any fun in college? Currently am a senior in high school, and as a whole, I must say I have enjoyed these years overall. It seems as though that college will be much more difficult. In high school, you can kind of get around things and pull off good grades without much effort. However, you can not do so in college, so it seems. I don't see how anyone could be excited about college, seems like nothing but work, stress, and agony a hundred times worse then high school. I know thats life I guess and I think I live in the past too much at times, but I really do not look forward to college in the least. How is college possibly any fun at all with so much work?
Is college still fun living off campus? I plan on starting college next year, but I'll still be living at home. Will college still be fun for me, even though I won't be living in the dorms? Also, how does college compare to high school?

Best UC college that is fun socially, high ranked and has a good English Major? I want to attend a UC college that is fun socially, but also high ranked and has a good English Major. Which UC would be best? Right now I'm thinking UCI or UCSB, because I think UCLA/UCB would be too hard to get into and UCSC is too far away from home. I'm also thinking of cheap and liberal private universities, if you have any suggestions.
What was your most fun class in college and what made it fun? I just read an interesting website for a history class that was doing a unit on Rome. The professor had the students make cardboard shields and gave them some foam swords, then had them drill and practice formations and tactics used by the ancient legions. That looked like fun to me, and I remember one or two fun classes from my undergrad studies. I was wondering what other kinds of fun things that other people experienced in college.

Is it worth it to study constantly and not have fun in college? I am 20 years old and I am in one of the most difficult majors in my college and I have to study so much that I don't see the light of day. Some people are telling me that I'll regret it one day if I don't have some fun in college but my parents tell me basically it's too bad if I have to be anti-social to get good grades. I'm now absolutely hating college because I have heavy-handed parents breathing down my neck to perform at the top and I have officially had no life since high school. What should I do? Mostly looking for answers from people who have finished college. It would help if you were also an engineer/scientist/other ridiculous major (since that's where I reside).

What are your suggestions? (note I am use to get A's and a bit of a perfectionist)

How do you have fun in college while living with your parents? I will be starting real college in the fall (I'm already in community college, but this fall I transfer to a university where there's parties and dorms and typical college stuff), and I, unfortunately, will have to live with my mom for the remaining two years. Any tips on how I can still get the college experience while living with my mom? I just don't have enough money to move out, I'll already be taking out over 10,000 in loans to cover tuition.

Or would i have better luck just going to Boston? to all the people who think i want to go to college just for the fun of it, i actully have been offered both athletic and academic scholarshipl, ive won 2 state championships and have a 3.8 gpa. I just want to have fun as well.
How outrageous and fun can college be? I know it depends on which school you go to. I plan on attending a large state school and was wondering how crazy it can get. I have been to quite a few high school parties and the most that happens is two people hook up or someones parents show up. Do couches get thrown out the window from 20 stories above? Wild hook-ups? How much more variety is there in girls? Should I join a frat? I want the most out of my college party experience. Any advice or insight?

Can a bad grade in a class taken for fun at a community college come back and haunt you? Hello. I am currently enrolled at a four year university. I took a language course for fun at a community college and did not do so well in that class. Since the class was only taken for fun and out of my own interest, I am not transferring the units to my four year university. Will the bad grade from the community college come back and affect me when I am applying to graduate school? Will the grad school find out about my community college grade even if I will not be reporting it?

How is it possible to be an individual, have fun in college, and also keep God's commandments? In college, how can anyone be religious? There's always, as Yngwie Malmsteen said in Marching Out - "Women, Wine, and Song". Marching Out is the best album - by Yngwie - hands down (in my opinion). I don't drink, but fun is kissing to be clever, seeing shows, dancing with women, safe sex, expanding your horizons, and if you can't get any action at the night clubs - go to the strip clubs!

What are some fun things me and my college friends could do? The 5 of us have known each other since elementary school and agreed to meet once a month for a Girl's Night Out, just so we won't lose contact. We aren't into the party scene. We've done dinner and a movie, we're planning to go to a college football game, trick or treating together, etc. What are some cool, fun, and "safe" things we could do? Thanks :)
what is a really fun college in california? what school did you attend in Calfiornia and tell me about it? were there a lot of parties? was the educational atmosphere nice? Im school shopping and am trying to go to a school where Ill have the most fun. (this question doesnt really relate to dating but I think it is one of the most active forums). Im not an idiot. I understand colleges are for learning (i have a 4.2 GPA). The thing is that I ALREADY KNOW about the academic history and reputation about my prospective schools (all that can be found by simply looking on the school webpage or by word of mouth). What I dont know (and is very important) is the college life of a school. because, after all, im going to be there for four fucking years I might as well make it the best time of my life.
Whats a fun college to go to? Ive spent this past year in the most boring school ever, a quasi military school in New York. Best 4 years of your life? BULLSH*T! So I was wondering, are there any fun schools to go to? Asher Roths song "I love college" mocks me!
